Francisco Torres is a trombonist, Bass trombonist and educator who hails from the city of Hermosillo, in Sonora, Mexico. He’s the musical director of the Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band and is a member of Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band and John Beasley’s Monkestra. His jazz credits include Terence Blanchard, Stanley Clarke, Bill Holman, Joey DeFrancesco, Bob Mintzer as well as Celia Cruz, Cachao, Sheila E and Oscar Hernandez and The Spanish Harlem Orchestra. His recent recorded film credits include “Incredibles 2”, “Coco”, "Bad Times at El Royale", “Secret Life of Pets” and “Straight Out of Compton”. He can be heard on pop records by Bob Dylan, Michael Buble, Dr. Dre, Frank Ocean, Pitbull, Angelique Kidjo, Ricky Martin, and many others. He’s currently professor of jazz trombone at Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Long Beach.
